About Eulala Conner

 

Eulala was born two days after Christmas, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana into a southern family that loved storytelling. Her army dad and adventurous mother made homes for Eulala and her three sisters in a number of places including Germany during the occupation after WW II.

 

She recieved her formal art training at Ringling School of Art, Instituto Allende, Art Center College in Los Angeles and School of Visual Arts in New York City. Her early career included illustrating for an advertising studio and doing fashion illustrations for department stores. Eulala has collaborated with Maurice Sendak and master printer James Reed. She has recieved numerous portrait commissions as well as awards.

 

She is married to her soulmate, also an artist. They have two grown children who have gone on to become artists themselves. Portfolio Solutions has represented her for many productive years. She specializes in drawing children, with illustrations in numerous text and trade books for major childrens' book publishing companies.
