About Lynne Avril

 

Lynne Avril is the illustrator of more than 80 children's books. Her most popular characters are the young Amelia Bedelia, from the well-known author Herman Parish (Harper Collins, 2010-2012), and Nellie Sue, from Every Cowgirl Needs a Horse by Rebecca Janni (Dutton, 2010). In 2011, she was awarded the Schneider Family Book Award by the American Library Association for her illustrations in The Pirate of Kindergarten (Atheneum, 2010). Lynne lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she is also known in the music scene as a blues bass player.
